Can Internet Marketing Be a Long Term Enterprise?

By Andrew Parker

Here's the facts: many people want to get into Internet Marketing because they think it is an easy way to earn some quick money. Their aim is to put up a quick web page, slap up some advertising and affiliate links and then sit back while the cash rolls in. Some people are qualified to do this effectively and earn quite a nice profit online. But imagine you want more than a little extra or even quick cash (quick cash, obviously being a misnomer)? Can you really turn Internet website marketing into a permanent and workable career?

The quick and dirty answer is that yes, you are able to make Internet Marketing your permanent and sustainable career. All you need to do is go about things properly. The strategies and systems you use to build something to earn fast cash are not all that different than the methods and systems you will use to build long term profits. So what would you do if you want to develop a sustainable career on the internet?

The very first thing you'll want to fully grasp is that when you work to create a workable career for yourself is that this takes real and honest work. You will probably be doing this work every single day and there will be days when you really like it and days when it feels like trudging through mud. In this way it is likely to be the same as each alternate job out there. If you happen to be hoping to build long term millions by doing a large amount of work now and nothing later, then you are going to be in for a rude surprise in a few months. So get ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

There are a couple of projects that give themselves to long term income a lot better than others. Affiliate marketing, as an example, will work for short term or low profit earners who want to make money part time to supplement an already existing income. Is it truly possible to generate a full time income in this manner? Sure when you choose the best products and promote the heck out of them. It is a better plan, nevertheless, to produce your own products and sites and them promote them. This gives you complete command over the projects you take on and how you accomplish them. And you'll be more likely to stick with it in the long run. If you want to offer a service on the web this works much the same way. Writers, for example, need websites on which they can exhibit samples of their work while they endeavor to create their portfolios.

Finally, if you would like to be successful and create permanent and viable income for yourself online, you need to prepare yourself for total dedication to your task. It is often fun and very rewarding but first you'll want to say "okay I really want this." Doing it half heartedly won't get you anywhere.
