How A Face Painter Brooklyn Does His Job

By Jaclyn Hurley

Paint has been used for many years to do different jobs. These have included decorating houses, making paintings and also preparing people for different ceremonies or events. In modern times, children like to have their faces decorated for fun. A face painter brooklyn can be hired to decorate children's faces and add more joy to them.

Gathering all the necessary tools in one place always helps to save time. These come in different shapes, quality and sizes. Each one is used at a different stage of the job to do a specified task. Colors used to paint skin should be approved for such use by the relevant regulatory body.

Different colors can be used to come up with a better looking picture. The alternative to purchasing all the necessary colors is to buy the basic ones and mix them to obtain new ones as desired. This however needs someone with experience. Beginners may end up wasting a lot of time and paint while doing this on a client.

Furniture which should include a chair for the client and the painter, a table to place the paint on and a cabinet to store the tools of work are all necessary. Some of the other important things to have include a hair restraint for girls with long hair, a blower to help dry the paint within a shorter period and a mirror for the clients to see the final picture on their faces.

The customer is first asked to choose the picture that they would like painted on them. These should be in a book or in form of photographs of previous work that has been done by the painter. Small children need to be assisted in making a choice. The painter should have a clear picture in his mind of what he is to produce and the steps that he will follow.

It is important to be certain that the child is not allergic to the contents of the paint. Any cosmetics on the face should be washed off. This helps the paint to adhere better to the skin. The client is requested to temporarily remove any large ornaments around the working area. Long hair should be restrained at the back of the head.

The painter begins by applying the lighter colors first. It is easier to bring out the dark colors on top of lighter ones. The base of the picture is done followed by finer details. Bases can be applied with the use of sponges. Small brushes are good for fine details. Special effects can also be achieved such as bumps on the face.

Hygienic wipes should be used to clean out paint that has ended up on unintended areas when the painting is complete. A gentle blow of air aids in quick drying the paint. It is important to ensure that one layer of color is dry before another wet one is applied. This will prevent undesired mixing which would lead to new colors that would spoil the final image. Clients should be allowed to look at themselves at a mirror so as to approve work done. With their permission, pictures of the work can be taken for record purposes.

One can do face painting as a hobby. It can also be done as a professional career. If it is professional, it is prudent for one to get an insurance cover.
