They can certainly learn a lot, and even the basic functions, that will allow them to become Internet savvy in the future.

To those who are already knowledgeable in this field, then you should consider helping out these amateurs. Of course, it is easier for you to teach them if they already have basic knowledge of the use of the computer. Otherwise, you might need to start teaching them elementary knowledge.

Assuming that these amateurs are capable of handling the basic functions of the computer, you can then teach them how to use the said platform. There are effective ways on how you can actually teach them about it. Here are some of those effective ways to teach amateurs the art of the Internet.

First of all, you have to ask them directly what they want to do. If they want to make a blog or a website on their own determines what you will be teaching them. If they say blog, then this is the platform suitable for them as a beginner. If it is a website, then you might want to look for another easy-to-use websites.

Once the platform that you are using has been decided, give them a tour around it. Let them see what the landing page will look like, where the important buttons are, and what functions are available for the use of the said amateur. You need to be as patient as you can when it comes to teaching the said amateur.

You have to demonstrate to them the basic functions of the website or the functions that they will most commonly use. In this case, posting contents is what they will do frequently. For this, you have to tell them what button in the landing page they will have to click to be able to post the content that they want to post.

They might have some little changes they want to make to the layout, font, font style, font size, and such of the content they want to post. Let them know how they can make it. You can just tell them about the buttons that are in the page that will allow them to do what they want to do or you can tell them some hard codes for HTML programming.

If what the person wants to change is the theme of the blog, then allow them to do so. Educate them about how the themes are being showcased in the theme area of the platform. Tell about how some are for free and some comes with a price too. They can decide which theme they will choose after that.
