The secret of change is to focus everything on creating what you can in the present, and letting yourself slip out of the past and the future.
How can we really change?
I am not talking about the type of change that lasts for only a few months and then we return to similar things we always used to do. No, I am talking about that everlasting change that allows us to advance with our lives and leave our old strategies behind. This is true change, change that will last forever. The secret is to commit everything you have in your life to building what you can in the present time.
The past will hold you down and the future will show you the best lie and mirage of a land where it all turns out. Both of these places are stunningly deadly because they keep us from being in action in the moment. Even though we can go there in our heads, we have to avoid living in these places at all costs.
Change will not be straightforward. Think about just how many of us attempt to make huge changes the on the first of the year...January 1. In fact, about half of people that make New Years Resolutions fail by mid February. That disconnect is huge. So there must really be something incredibly broken with that method.
So what are we able to do?
Focus upon one thing, every single day, to make yourself a smidge better in comparison to the day before and do that for as long as you potentially can. Do not get obsessed with the quantum leap where everything changes all at one single point in time - it is a great lie. Heavily focus on the daily tasks you can perform and in time you may change more than you could truly ever imagine.
Start the journey of change at this moment, one step at a time.
Don't wait.
