A lion doesn't concern itself with the opinion of sheep. Game Of Thrones, George R.R. Martin
We are living in a pretty vicious world.
Each time somebody rises in this world there are 100 people attempting to bring him down. They come out in packs with their piercing sharpened teeth looking for methods to destroy anything they can sink into... and regularly, they're pretty successful in doing it. It's terrible what happens to people nowadays who are attempting to do something in this world. It doesn't matter if it's positive even, the wolves will always find a way. I guess this is the way that it's always been? Maybe it'll always be this way.
But we need a new sort of hero.
We need a lion who doesn't concern itself with the views of those sheep who've never stepped into and failed in the arena. That's the kind of hero we need. Not someone that was born great, but a woman or man who built themselves from the ashes in the depths and who will constantly take a stand for what they believe in and what they adore.
Wouldn't that give the people something to root for? I believe as a society we are obsessed with perfect figures - if that be a body or a character. We idealize this concept of perfection and yet there really isn't any such thing. What we actually need is someone who admits imperfection and celebrates it. And, in spite of that deep sense of being flawed, strives to grow every day and bring light into the world.
We actually need someone who will rise confidently above all the foolishness and take a stand for something larger than simply wealth, sex, drugs, and so on. We need an ordinary man or woman - ready to be extraordinary in faith, love, and compassion.
