The Ghost Of Who You Could Become

By Evan Sanders

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit - Aristotle

Don't ever compete with others, who you happened to be a week gone, yesterday, or perhaps a minute ago. Don't struggle with yourself in this moment. No, battle with your potential. Struggle with the ghost of the individual you might become. Because if you enter into the arena looking to compete with that, you'll become far larger than anything you might have ever dreamed about.

Every single day, bring your ability to decide to the table. You may not wake up feeling great, you just might be struck by adversity and land flat on your back, but make the decision to stand back up, wipe the dust out of your eyes and get back to playing with with the soul you know you might become.

Who is that potential person?

That truly is only an answer that you can really give yourself. But what I will tell you is that your potential is just a little bit better than you at everything in life. They run faster than you, they work harder than you, they lift more, they talk with more men or women, they make a room burst with laugher and anything else you can imagine. The thing is you shouldn't be threatened by this. Sure, you may never basically reach those moments where you exceed your potential in competition. That's not the point. The point is seeing what you are truly capable of and then growing into that person.

If you can imagine and compete with your potential, you can see the future of what's possible for yourself. That, more than anything, is worth its weight in all the jewels around the world.

So dream a little and see what you are capable of.

It could totally change your life.
